Book Writing: Finding Your Inspiration

Book writing is by no means an easy task. In fact, writing can be quite a handful even if you are a professional. The first thing you should always do is to find an inspiration. An inspiration can be your best friend in coming up with a good book. Here are some tips to help you find your inspiration.

1.Decide if you want a true to life story or a fictional one. A book can be of fiction or of a non-fiction type. You will have to choose if you want to make a book about a real persons life or just about anything out of a figment of your imagination. If you have a very interesting life (or know someone who does), chances are, you are going to do great in the non-fiction category. If you are very creative and imaginative, fictional stories will be a piece of cake.

2.Read other books written by your favorite writers. One way to appreciate the art of book-writing is to read books from popular authors. You will gain a whole new perspective about it and just maybe, find your inspiration along the way.

3.Look around. Take a walk around your neighborhood or the park. You will see a lot of things that can strike your thoughts. It could be a scenery, a person or a picture. It might even be just a writing on a wall. There can be a lot of potential inspirations for your book it just might be around the corner.

4.Generate ideas. Once you have looked around, you can generate different ideas that you would want to use for your book. It might be something of interest to you, or something you know a lot about. Take your imagination to greater heights. Jotting down your ideas will help you decide on a storyline later.

5.Feel what is good for you. Do not just think about it. Feel it. You have to love what you are doing. Although it is also necessary to use your brain in knowing what readers might want, in the end, what you feel most passionate about will definitely give you a more interesting and well-made story.

An inspiration can really come from anywhere. It may strike you at the most unexpected time and place. So get your pen and paper handy. You never know when it will hit you.
