When writing a book, you have so many options. When choosing a topic to write about there are many factors to consider. Here are a few guidelines which will help you in choosing what your next books topic will be.



The first thing you should ask yourself when choosing a topic is Will I enjoy writing about this? In other words you should write about what you love to do, what your passion is. If you don't love what you write about you won't stay committed and you might end up giving up. Put all your attention on writing one book. Don't write several books at one time.



If you're having a hard time choosing what to write about since you have a few options. Write them down. Think about each topic and if interests not only you but the audience you want to target. If you think it will appeal to a lot of people then write about it. Be sure that you have researched your topic well.

Another thing you should do is research who your target audience will be. Which audience do you prefer? Who do you want to read your book? Who are interested enough to pay the price tag? How many possible buyers are there? Does your book have benefits and life lessons to offer your buyers? These questions will help you greatly.



You can also compare your book to other books of the same genre written by accomplished authors. Look for the similarities your book and the other authors books have. Also, look for the traits that sets your book apart from the others. If you're not sure where your book fits in just visit your local bookstore and seek advice from the owner.



Have a vision of success. Believe that your book will be published. Don't loose confidence. This will give you the dedication and hype you need. Don't be all negative. Just believe and stay dedicated in writing your book and the success will follow.
